For my first I was 1cm and 70-% effaced from 38 to when my water broke at 39 wks. I labored for 24 hours and didn't have any progress for MOST of that time. I progressed 2cm to 10cm in like two hours after sleeping when I got my epidural. So it just varies. This baby I was 1cm + 50% at 36 weeks.
