Get at least 90% stability, make clearsight brews, buy a bronze hammer, load your ship with 10-20 cargos before going in. Once you're in, you can stay in the non-insanity range or head straight into the insanity 1 range for more loots. If insanity effect is too much for you, find some golden pedals on dark sea islands to make warding potions.
