Thank you for the advice. I'm definitely trying to figure out what I need to do - whether that's leaving or finding something new. From what I've found so far, Habitica really does seem to be the top app for this kind of thing, so I am trying to determine if there's something else I need to do, or if changing the way I approach Habitica would help. I've just started habitica today with my wife and a couple if buddies. We've started a quest, feral dust bunnies, and we've got 45 pending damage. When does pending damage turn into actual damage against the quest? The pending damage to the boss happens after midnight, when the dailies update. Is your team all on the same time zone?Habitica is a for-profit company that relied on free labour from unpaid mods since its inception. Mods did significant work for no pay because they loved the site, but didn't receive much in the way of thanks from the paid staff. Not strongly (i.e. the way Habitica does, by "hurting" you (or killing if it's bad enough) or taking things away)--it has enable-able options for visual indicators for procrastinated/stale tasks (and if duration tracking, then the "beat the clock" strategy will dump Marvin out of the timer container and onto its face if you don't "beat" your estimated time), and technically the "kudos ... I've been self-hosting Habitica for a while, but I hadn't heard of 'shabitica' which looks much better for a self-hosted given what is offered via that fork. It's too bad it hasn't been kept up. So while you can do Docker you can also do a plain Linux install: It looks like they offer instructions for other operating systems as well.

I would love some suggestions on alternatives that contain the features of Habitica I find most useful: Ability to create recurring tasks that automatically uncheck themselves the next day. Ability to create "to dos" that I don't have to check every day but sit there until I'm ready to do them.
