I was trying to determine the manufacture date and went to the Glock Research Project. I typed in the number on the side of the barrel "PDB953" and came up with no info on the date. Beretta has been using date codes to identify the manufacturing year of their shotguns since 1945, initially with roman numerals and then switching to two letters from 1975 onwards (e.g. DA). Prior to 1945 date codes were in Roman numerals and included the month and the last two digits of the year, so January 1922 would be rendered IXXII.

So, sometimes, when I see one either from a dealer or private seller, it's easier to have a list of serial numbers so I can see when it was manufactured, imported, etc. Sometimes, I don't have time to call Glock.
