Same issue as you, Found the fix. I had to open yuzu in steam desktop, then open speaker on the desktop bottom right menu. click applications and Yuzu is muted by default. I unchecked mute and booted back into steam deck game OS. Audio works now.

In game, when opening menu (inventory, map, etc..) if feels natural, not slow.When not in menu (e.g. running, jumping) it's again slow.
