I have my own Vanilla server since June 2020, where I learned exactly how this game works and how to modify its features. OK... I have added ALL the patches from 1.07 (the first since I started my server) to this latest 1.18 and I NEVER did a "Wipe" and EVERYTHING works regularly with no problems other than the specific known defects of DayZ .
