Dec 27, 2007. #1. A "H" is a fine tractor and "Ms" do get down under 5000 lbs in stock class . I have seen Hs in 5000 and they don"t fare well. As for the term "stock" well i run a dyno service for vintage tractors and see big #s all the time on so called stock tractors.H - 5.50-16 and 11.2x38. SH - 6.00-16 and 12.4x38. M - 6.00-16 and 13.6x38. SM- 6.50-16 and 14.9x38. However I do think my MD looks good with bigger tires. Vision for it is power steering, wide front with 6.50-16s and a set of front wheel weights and 14.9x38s on the rear with two-sets or wheel weights. Prior to that they generally followed the tractor number as in the Super C. I know that on my Super C the engine serial number is 5 numbers short of the tractor number if the tractor number started at 1 (which it didn't).It's a Farmall Super H (yes, I know the difference between a regular H and a Super, this one is a Super). I have some minor motor work to do to get it running which I am confident I can handle myself, but I remember from when I last parked it that I was grinding up gears pretty bad so I am sure the clutch needs to be replaced. One of each. It depends on what you want to do. Cultivating corn with an M will kill you. I have many hours on both. Sometimes the power of the M is nice. The loader on the H would go into the barn. The M was just enough higher it wouldn't. I will say that in both cases larger tires help. Also consider a Super H or M.The primary difference was the addition of a hydraulic lift system on the Super A. The engines were the same size (113 c.i.), but the SA had a whisker more compression. The hoods were also the same height, as was the grill. Later Super A's could have the fast hitch option, but not many did. The super C showed up about the time plain H's were done and moving to a Super H. The super C was made to have a fast hitch and the hydraulics to go with it.
