I didn't want a basic Springfield and wanted a forged reciever, completely unaware that LRB was a thing at that time. I knew of Fulton, Springfield, Bula, Norinco, and James River.The M14 was our last official 7.62 NATO battle rifle capable of firing in either full- or semi-automatic modes. It was famed for its jam-resistant action and superb accuracy.
