However, I keep getting these 'Notched Wooden Planks' which seem unusable compared to these normal generic 'planks'. Can somebody please tell me how to make these normal planks instead of scrouging for them near the warehouses? Cheers

My point still stand tbh. Spears can also be crafted on the fly as long as there are planks around. While the fishing rod might not be necessary to carry around, so are notched planks, sturdy sticks, and mortar & pestle. And a tent is definitely necessary to camp out.
