A 1/2" will not alter the proformace of the wheel but will decrease your speed & draw lenth. you also could order a new wheel with the out already @ 28.5, but try string first.A=30", B=29", C=28", D=27" and you can go shorter but need to get a different mod from the stock one. Match the draw stop to the mod position. You might have to flip the bow over and install the draw stop from the other side for the shorter lengths.

It comes from the factory set at 55# and 27" iirc so when you tuned or had it tuned to 70# and 28" the resting position of the power cam changed.
