The general idea is that the .50bmg bolt-action upper uses the AR15 lower as a slave for a fire control group. The buffer and spring is removed from the lower and the bolt retracts into the buffer tube when the action is open. It's highly recommended you do NOT use collapsible stocks with .50bmg uppers for obvious reasons.
