John deere 1780 planter problems.
I have a JD 1780 16\31 planter that has a wiring issue seedstar with a brown box monitor. the planter has an erratic occurance that at different times i will lose control of frame control the monitor will tell me planter control box has failed and sometimes plant control box is missing. the problem arises when planting and occosianally even when trying to fold or unfold the planter.

My guess is something wrong is Valve Block on the planter that is not letting the CCS circuit return its oil free without restriction back to the tractor. When this happens it creates pressure in the tractor and that is why I pop hoses out.
I've seen the problem worse on Deere's 1780 style planter with the longer hitch on the 6/11 or 8/15 planters causing more side pressure on turns. If that's not it you probably need a new harness. You can check out ag express, they sell them. The 1770 has a better lifting system than the 7200 series . The 7200 the cylinders will get out of phase. We have had 12 row 7200, then 16 row 7200 and now 1770nt - 16 row with es sets. We have used Precisions finger pickup and vaccum units and both seed very well.

Jan 24, 2014 · We had 1780 12/23 that we used for beans only for quite a while and it did a fine job, for the money that they are asking for them I think it would be a good move for a bean only planter. We traded our 1780 and a 16 row 1770 recently for a 1790 16-31. I think they are asking somewhere between 25 and 30 for the 1780. I have a "Friesen Friesen" planter bar that carries a 24 row 22" planter. I understand that this is the same bar as a John Deere 1780. I do like it BUT .....the cylinders in the center of the bar decided to quit lifting during planting last spring.
