As has been mentioned, the KimPro finish can be okay or not so good. I purchased a used Super Carry Ultra that had obvious dings and scratches on the slide finish. Sent it to the Mothership for a complete rebuild, including a slide refinish. Cost for the refinish: $110 for what now looks to be a brand new slide. Nice.

The trigger guard of the Kimber is higher, and allows more room for fingers, as well as a higher overall grip to minimise flip up. Had to send it in to Kimber for them to fix. Got it back and it still jammed with some federal hydrashok 135g JHPs. Sent it back into Kimber a second time and they polished the feed ramp. Found the only ammo that would work it was Magtech 115g JHPs.
