I'm new to the game and a some experienced friends are going to show me the ropes. I looked online and found that the standard size for a miniature is 28mm with a 1" or smaller base. I printed one this size and it came out decent. I printed another at 50% bigger (42mm) and 100% bigger (56mm) and they look much better. 28mm also feels really small.
