Maybe if you put Sharp on the Uchigatana it will be better, but not a lot I believe. The painting guardian sword has a fairly low base damage and that damage base damage will be even lower with a sharp gem. Overall I don't think it is worth it, but if you really want to use it you could make it work.

That weapon is just extremely good, it carried me all the way to the last boss. High damage, nice scaling (even better with sharp/refined), bleeding (which becomes extremely strong with carthus rouge), good weapon art (especially for chaining hits in pvp). Definitely the best curved sword in my opinion. #6.
