You really did a very nice job with that Remington. A couple of years ago found a M12 Winchester for $200 and after finding an original trench gun barrel, I did a similar conversion. While I had a bit of a time locating a heat shield, I see it was nothing compared to what you had to go through to make the handguard for yours.

Already have the gun by a matter of chance, but don't know anything specific (pops really needs to stop accidentally bidding on gunbroker). IAC went through a lot of trouble to get the 97 right. I remember reading that they sent an well known 1897 expert to the the Norinco factory in China. If you have the riot version it should be easy to convert it to a trench. All you need is the heat shield/bayonet lug, that's the hard part.
