230 posts · Joined 2022. #5 · Jan 29, 2023. My first Sig was a 2022 last summer. I really liked it, and then saw a used P229 in .40 at a local store and decided to buy it. The P229 felt better in hand and I really enjoyed shooting it. Fast forward 6 months, sold the 2022 and now have 3 P229’s in 9mm, .40, and .357 Sig.
SP2022 Sight Adjustment Tool. I have two SP2022 handguns. One in 9mm, the other in the .40 S&W/.357 SIG format. The .40 S&W consistently shoots low right. (Groups touch at 10-15 yards, and touch at 25 yards on a good day, so I am going to say it is the arrow and not the Indian.) The .40 S&W front sight clearly sits a bit to the left.The sp2022 seems to use an assortment of parts that are used in other Sig models - examples would be recoil springs and the sights. The 2022 is lighter than the 229 by 3 oz. assuming an alloy frame on the 229 yet. both have the same barrel length, 3.9 in. The grip of the 2022 can be smaller than. the 229 when the small grip is used on the 2022. Both are equally reliable, and. accurate.
