The 30SF, is on the list of approved. Perhaps this "list" has caused the confusion. Basically, a manufacturer has to have each model they want to sell in California "safety tested". The cost of the testing and the listing aren't cheap. So, if a manufacturer doesn't think they will see enough to be worth the cost, they don't sell them here.

Regarding the OP's question, the G29 factory barrel will fit and function in the G30 (see photo below) if you get an extractor working reliably with 10mm ammo in the G30 pistol. The Gen4 G29/30 has the RTF texture and interchangeable back straps. Without any back strap/beavertail addition, the Gen4 G29/30 frame is the same *size* as the Gen3 G30SF/29SF/30S frame, but it is not the same. The Gen4 frame also has a larger magazine release, which can be reversed for a left-handed shooter, whereas the Gen3 does not.
