This is a decrease of about 125,000 powerless customers compared to Saturday morning. Crews have been working feverishly throughout the holiday to help restore power.Central Maine Power says they are down to approximately 70,000 customer outages from a high of 219,000 totally impacted. “We know and can appreciate that customers are eager to have more information about when their power will be restored so they can plan,” said Kevin Elwell, director of Electric Operations for CMP.Through our Tree Care program we work year-round to prune branches and remove trees that could be troublesome and cause power outages. In addition, we install highly sensitive monitoring equipment along the system to prevent momentary contact from wind-blown branches from turning into an outage.
